A blog post by Mike Hodkinson

Hey Sweet cheeks!

It’s almost been a year now since I was the best man for my best friends wedding. I remember when I was asked to be best man that I was scrambling around the Internet for tips on how to write a half decent best man’s speech, it’s not an easy task, when you consider you have to read this out to a room full of people too!

So I’ve decided to make my own guide on writing a best man’s speech, including a few tips I found useful myself.

First off, respect your audience:

Generally wedding guests on both the groom and the brides sides will be present and this is made up of a broad spectrum of people of all ages (usually). Avoid swearing as children shouldn’t be subjected to this and the older generation are likely to be upset by it and let’s face it, it’s easy to avoid when addressing lots of people on a happy occasion, I’m sure the priest managed it…?

Acknowledge people who played a significant role:

In preparing for your best man’s speech, it’s fair to say your presence as best man and reading out your speech is a significant contribution to the days events, but it’s a group contribution, many people work hard and I hope you’ll be mindful of this on the big day and helping others wherever you can.
The speech is a great time to mention this however, as everyone’s winding down and for the most part however stressful the day might have been they’ve signed off for the day, so bring their efforts to everyone’s attention and ask that they show appreciation by proposing a toast or beginning applause.

Famous for 5 minutes, oh the stress!:

Relax. For the next 10 minutes or more you control the room. I had no better confirmation of this than in the first line of my speech, I dropped a verbal bomb (intentionally) by stating that as we’re all here, despite what we might have thought in the past, the groom isn’t gay… which in itself was moderately amusing but then I began clapping, then as everyone else began to clap we almost laughed at the ordasity of clapping this as the Groom looked on
A lot of the people at the reception didn’t know me and when I stood up, nobody really knew what I was like, how the speech was going to be, would this be the most boring 10 minutes of their life…? I led with that and it loosened everyone up and they knew what to come might not be so bad afterall.

Practice in the mirror:

It sounds stupid because it is. Practice your speech enough times though and it will flow when it’s time for the real thing, practicing in the mirror means you can do the next part…

Remember to smile:

It’s a joyful occasion, enjoy yourself as you’re reading the speech (or try anyway because it is nerve racking) and others will enjoy it too.

Finally…

Take them on a rollercoaster:

Humour should be consistent throughout your speech, if not then reflection and sincerity makes for a good speech too, but the more varied your speech the better, tell a story, keep it relevant, depending on your audience keep it clean or if you feel you can push the boundaries then just go for it. Best man’s speeches are not known for being the most acceptable of speeches and you can get away with the odd cheeky comment.
Re rollercoaster, take the people around you on an emotional journey, begin with laughter to loosen them up, reflect on at least one of the happy couple and refer to a story from their past, comment on the wedding and the reasons you enjoyed it, perhaps throw in there that it was better than his shotgun wedding a couple of years back that he quickly had to get annulled just for one final laugh and then focus on the couple, reasons why they’re so good together and lead in to the toast.

But for anyone who’s not so sensible, here’s my best man speech…

So, Nids not gay!!!

I read somewhere that the best mans speech should last no longer than it takes the groom to make love, so I’ll thank you all for listening, Goodnight!

I’m not very good with speeches, I’m not sure how far after I stood up that it became obvious, I decided to get some tips from the internet, unfortunately bukkake beauties was more of a distraction than it was an inspiration.

So I decided to look at best man websites instead.

First of all I’m to imagine you all naked *glaze over, look around, point at a man and make a lil finger tiddler gesture, snigger*, *look at woman and rub legs*

Some of the speeches on this website set the bar really high, it’s such a nerve racking experience to be up here in front of everyone.
So I thought to myself “Wow it would be so easy just to copy and paste the speech from the website on to this piece of paper, read it out at the wedding and have everyone think I’ve written the speech of the century… but then I thought to myself “No!!! I mean how often are you asked to be the best man at your best friends wedding!?
So I decided NOT to copy someone elses speech and stitched together my own fine masterpiece instead..

So we’re gathered here today to celebrate the wedding of Norman and Chelsea… damn! *scribble real names with pen*

FORNICATION…! Oh I’m sorry… For an occasion such as this, I must say what a beautiful venue this is, it’s lovely to see everyone here to share in Ian and Traceys special day, I was a bit surprised to learn that after clearly spending so much on the wedding and the reception, the wedding car that Ian was taking Tracey to Wales for the honeymoon … wait for assistance from audience member

…but he told me he was taking her away to Bangor!

Some of you I recognise, others I don’t know WAVE Hi! I’m Mike and I’m from Solihull!

I’m Ian’s only… oh sorry you told me to take that part out, I’m Ian’s beeest friend LOOK SHY AND SWAY ALL SHY, Ian was born on 11th March 1979, and then I was born 3 days later, both our mommas white blonde haired, blue eyed boys!
We grew up on the same street, three houses away from eachother and now today here we are 33 years later celebrating his and Traceys big day!

Growing up with Ian has never felt like growing up at all, people often say to us “YOU’LL NEVER GROW UP” and “WILL YOU TWO NEVER GROW UP??”
Nid’s the Peter pan of Solihull

We can’t take eachother too seriously, we know pretty much all there is to know about eachother, well we have been through everything together pretty much…
We’ve smashed neighbours greenhouse window panes together, convinced the neighbours children to climb to the top of a 6ft fence, believe they can fly and then jump and take flight, we tried to succeed at stealing hubcaps from cars to adorn our bedroom walls, the first car we tried Ian got caught so we gave up and here we are two weeks later in the company of you fine people!

Ian may only be sall but he means the world to me, I remember we were on our way to be rally marshals one pitch black night, I was driving on a national speed limit road with Ian as my passenger, the car began to lose grip on a bend and we headed into the oncoming lane with four cars coming towards u, I swerved the car back and it began to fishtail and I couldn’t recover it. As we slid sideways at 50mph down the bridgenorth road in an Austin Allegro, I remember my last wish and it was that I hope my best friend survives.

Jean and John should really be commended on bringing up such a wonderful son, I believe they are very proud and rightly so, Jean and John are also important to me, they’ve been like a second set of parents all these years and they gave me a brother in Ian. He’s funny, supportive, caring even respectable, or so I used to to think, it turns out you don’t ever truly know someone until you go on a stag night with them!

If I had to summarise Ian I’d have to say he’s muscley, ruggedly handsome.. no it’s no good Nid I cant read your writing.

I’d like to take this opportunity to talk about all of Ian’s accomplishments, I think we have time for them both!
I’ve mentioned what a good and loyal friend he is, but he’s also an attentive, fiercely loyal boyfriend too with a tender touch in the bedroom, at least he was until Tracey stole him from me!

I’ve known Tracey for a good few years now and I think it’s fair to say that Margaret and Doug have raised a beautiful young lady in Tracey, I’m sure you’ll agree she looks stunning today!

I cant imagine someone better to marry my best friend, since Ian and Tracey started dating I feel like whereas I used to have one best friend I now have two.

Ian and Tracey share a bond that very few people with ever find with someone in a whole lifetime, for them to get married today is right, it just makes sense and may I add it’s about bloody time! As a couple they’re the true definition of fate.

I should try to wind up my speech now, I have been told not to exceed 10minutes and I was kind of aiming for 7 minutes just to allow 3 minutes for applause.

But before I wish you well, let me leave you with some advice, to quote Will Smith for most of you but something memorable that stuck with me some 10years ago now…
Ian and Tracey, never lie, steal, cheat or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company, if you must cheat, cheat death and if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.

And so now, please be upstanding and let’s raise a toast to the happy couple, Mr and Mrs Ian Monckton, Ian and Tracey Toast

Three cheers

Good Luck!

That’s all folks!!

Happy New Year!

If I’ve learned anything in 2012 it’s that I hold no value to others.

This is not a post of self pity and depression, but honesty, for a while now I’ve felt undervalued, unwanted, lonely, out of place, I’ve been ignored, rejected, replaced, fed false promises and why have I felt this way? Because I’ve settled for it and now I feel it’s time for change.

I’m a great believer that New Year is not about change or about resolutions it’s a renewal to your subscription to ‘optimism magazine’, it’s a cute way to live your life but the real time for change is everyday, not just the end of each year, for the ambitious of us standing still and making do is not where it’s at.

Since I moved to Worcester in March 2012 I’ve not had anyone visit me yet, I’ve had my cousin and his fiance round, my best friend and his then fiance when I invited them and that’s it, so I figure that if people are happy to only see me when I visit them it doesnt really matter where in the world I live. I have no relationship anymore, no fiance, no wedding to plan, no baby on the way, just my business now, I’ve given all my energy and emotions to things that havnt worked and to people who give nothing in return but I can’t do it anymore.

Recently I’ve been building my own business and as the time draws closer to launch it’s the only optimism I feel in my life, I believe it will be a big success and will open up many doors of opportunity, both for me and hopefully for many other people who become involved, so here’s looking forward to 2013, for reasons which are important to me.

Have a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2013, Mike

Hey y’all!

I despair of foreign call centres. It’s been said many times, by many people and yes it’s a very general statement to make as some foreign call centres operate politely, efficiently and in the task they are set they perform very well, I’ve had experience of this myself.

However, I have noted the following problems:

It’s generally very difficult to build a rapport

Rapport is difficult to build as the culture and humour is very different

What’s expected and what’s delivered are often worlds apart

There is no accountability

In my recent experiences i.e calling my ISP (I won’t name them but Mary was one) to determine why my Internet connection had gone down, of the five calls I made I was hung up on four times, the fifth call gave me no menu options, I stayed on the line long enough to listen to 3 songs and hung up to try again.

When you call, the IVR (Interactive Voice Response) or menu options as they are known to most, ask you to type in your account number, of the five calls I made, I typed in this number five times, stated it to agents verbally five times too as apparently the one on the IVR serves no purpose (and yes I did speak to five agents in 4 calls as I was transferred between agents in one of the calls smart arse). In the information age why am I the one repeatedly giving my information? It should be given once per call and passed from IVR to agent AND agent to agent, ridiculous.

The point is I was hung up on in 100% of the calls in which I spoke to someone, like I said there is no accountability. I appreciate call centre costs are high and perhaps foreign call centres are more cost effective, but at the cost of the level of service you provide your customers?

Should it not be the other way around and should you not be improving your service level to a degree where less demand is placed on telephone interactions? Isn’t using foreign call centres then little more than a cop out and a mask behind which you can hide where blame can bounce off whoever you speak to, without being passed onto anyone with any kind of power of influence to make a change and make a difference which will justify the (frankly quite excessive) service costs?

It was the same when I moved house, they told me I had to close my account at the old property and begin a new contract at the new property, the lady (in a foreign call centre) agreed to waive the installation fee as I’d paid for a TiVo box I could no longer use now I was moving to a non cable area, do you think the fee was waived? No, of course not, she just wanted the sale and was happy to tell me anything i wanted to hear, I didn’t receive any new account information, the router was sent to the new address which the sales person knew I wasnt due to move into for another 2 weeks, so I had a 50mile round trip to the Yodel distribution centre for the router, the direct debit was not set up correctly so my payment went overdue, without the account number I couldnt make a payment or get through their IVR to speak to someone to make a payment, my old online account was not the same as the new one, so while I thought my payments were up to date the payments were not up to date on another account they had created for me with an Email address used to login they’d also created for me but never advised me of, I have a telephone number too, I couldnt tell you what it is, I don’t use a land line phone you see, but again I have never been told what this number is, as I could have used it instead of the account number to make a payment. Terrible.

The irony is that yesterday, although I was still hung up on, the only person to resolve my problem was UK based, he took on the problem and resolved it there and then because apparently someone still has pride in the job they were given, for the most part, and maybe that’s the difference, maybe that’s where UK based companies have done their brand more harm than good. Maybe that’s why honest, decent people are out of work here in the UK while the fastest growing economies in the world take our money and take us and our UK based companies for a ride. Great eh?

Very sad to see.

A blog post by Mike Hodkinson

Nice one bruvva

Further to the post on my new Ltd company incorporation and the posts boasting my company’s new found fortunes I am developing a brand spanking new website.

I’ve been quite quiet about my new business operations up until now but I’m now willing to reveal that my business is earning money online through a website which my company was loosely based upon.

Since the company was formed I have developed a business strategy that does away with the current website, no doubt this will result in a dramatic loss of earnings for the company short term.

The long term plan is to make the company much more diverse thus broadening it’s appeal, I’m talking about the creation of a new social network

So how is this different from anything else that’s out there?
Trust me when I say, it just is different, the brand will be your friend and therefor will share updates of its own and other members with regard to any brand related activity, create challenges and deliver rewards!

Personally I don’t like Facebook, I’d be surprised if anyone really liked Facebook itself if they removed all emotional attachments to the people on it, the interface is horrible, the features are not reliable, it’s a jack of all trades but master of none.

To put it into perspective Google + is a much nicer design/interface but doesn’t have the strength of numbers because everyone is still on Facebook and so why would you move to somewhere there is nobody you know with no real benefits other than the interface is nicer, you wouldn’t and people aren’t.

So in light of this fact why would I consider creating a social network?
Good question, bit nosey but ok, I’m catering for a niche, it will liberate the people who become involved and allow them to create their own online shops and create a secondary or perhaps even a primary income!

This will be known as Stage 2 or ‘Bullister’ as is the project name.

Stage 3 will see the user functions evolve, introduce additional revenue streams to the user for anyone wishing to participate in that side of it.

Im not creating a company that is out to help itself, I intend to create opportunities for people to help themselves online and to promote a lifestyle for people to aspire to and a means to reach their goals in life.

Sup Dawg?

Today I’m going to cover a topic which is a particular problem for me and that’s positivity, it seems these days that nothing seems to go quite the way that it should, I don’t know if you can identify with this too?

Now don’t in any way read this thinking I am playing the victim, not at all and I’ll explain why further on in my example why nobody else should feel like one either, but the fact is that Negativity is the product of continued unfortunate events, things not going the way that perhaps you had planned them to go, dreams have been flushed down the drain…

What can you do, how can you change this in your life? Well I’m sorry but you can’t and yes that’s a really shitty fact but what you can do is learn to deal with it. It’s true that negativity breeds negativity, the same is true for positivity, let me give you an example:

Picture the scene, you’re having a really bad day, your hair didn’t turn out how you wanted it to, there was no hot water this morning, you’re out of milk so you have to go to the shops, on the way home from the shops (with your milk) you see an old lady struggling to carry her shopping, so you offer to carry them for her, it takes nearly no time out of your day and you continue home to use your milk in your tea/coffee and cereal, the day doesn’t get any better…

Great story bro but where’s the positivity in that?

Well let’s look at it from another perspective:

You’re having a really bad hair day – You have hair, great, some people have lost theirs and would love hair like yours (unless you’re ginger then just a select few will still envy you)

There was no hot water this morning – Poor you… some people in the world have to travel miles on foot for water and even then it’s full of harmful bacteria which sustains life short term but long term does them more harm than good

You’re out of milk – Well thankfully we live in a country where milk is also a plentiful resource and oh lucky you, you have money to buy some too, some people in this country don’t let alone anywhere else in the world

If you thought helping the old lady was the only thing I would mention from that story then you were wrong, but what a lovely thing to do, as she becomes older her friends may well have disappeared from her life, this journey to the shops may be one of the only times she leaves the house anymore so she may well enjoy meeting someone new and what little conversation may take place, her body isn’t what it used to be and carrying those bags everyday may not be getting any easier for her, you may have only carried her bags but you may have made her day too

You walked to the shops, so you have full use of your legs, some people don’t

You made it safely to the shops and back safely, thank god you live somewhere where you can do that without any real concern for your security

It might seem like I’m exaggerating in this example but if you do then maybe your benchmark of disappointment is set a little too low.

Personally I battle with low self esteem, to the point where it’s affected my friendships, relationships and my ability to meet new people too, so first off I have identified this and for some time now have indulged in various excercises to help me try to overcome this ‘problem’, fasting is one thing I indulged in, I must stress that was only a temporary excercise and not something I participate in any longer, I may revisit this further down the line if I deem it necessary to do so but right now I don’t.

I’m not listing the excercises here, I have decided instead to work on each one and document my progress, the first of which is again to improve my self image aswell as my health, this is excercise, I walk 2-3 times a week for 3.6-5 miles around Worcester, I have bought a pull up bar, which doubles as a sit-up bar and I have a set of push up rings too.

Now that’s the physical aspect, for the psychological aspect I am working on a positivity board, these are based on compliments I have received from others aka qualities which I posess as an individual and which I am proud to posess too.

The rules are that they have to be compliments others have given you, this is important because in listing them you are acknowledging what they have told you, whether you agree with it or not is besides the point, but how many compliments will you list before you begin to see their point? The only other rule is that you can’t list anything negative and for future reference if anyone does portray negativity towards you, try to steer clear of these people as often they are themselves very insecure, or you may wish to help them in that same way you’re helping themselves but that’s up to you.

Life is never going to be perfect and neither are the other people in it, it doesn’t make life any less wonderful or the people in it any less beautiful, embrace life a little more while you have the chance, because you can.

Cya Mush

Here is my Facebook (http://facebook.com/mikemikeymikes) cover photo which also doubles as my positivity board:

And here is by pull up bar and push up rings:

Sweet

So exactly 21 days after the incorporation of my Ltd company and 13 days after my cheque for £108.07 I have my 2nd cheque and as mentioned in my earlier post it’s significantly bigger than the last!

So I don’t think I’m going to harp on about this and post on my blog everytime I get a new wave of income, just a note to say it’s all going well so far

I’m still not going to go into details of the enterprise as it’s still susceptible to cloning, in it’s current form it’s not that unique but my long term plans are very big and I mean VERY big! That’s just the thing, they’re long term and progress takes time… it’s really frustrating to be honest, it’s like planting a rose bush and wanting it to flower, it just can’t be rushed I guess.

Having said that I am enjoying the challenges of starting out, no doubt it won’t always be as easy as it has been either, I see that as a path I need to take to grow myself in business, before the quick expanse of the business leaves me behind

A blog post by Mike Hodkinson

Our department at work made a video company video, mostly featuring people from the building level I work on, it was made to give other people an insight into some of the work we do and the kind of fun and energetic atmosphere we work in.

Here’s the video anyway, see if you can spot me

It’s a good reminder of how fast time moves on, it waits for no man as they say.

I think a snapshot of the past can also allow you to reflect and acknowledge how things might have changed, for the better, for the worst, or maybe some things just never change… is that a bad thing?

For me, someone who has experienced a loss very close to me recently, I have reflected on the past a lot, what did I do wrong, what could I have done differently, what do I do now, it’s termoil…

BUT it’s the past that makes the loss all the more poignant, when you enjoyed something so much that nothing ever meant so much to you before or since it happened, how can you ever imagine that it may never happen again?

I say that you do not sit back and accept the loss, if that’s possible.

If you love something or someone so much, when someone else actually makes you feel complete and with them you shared the most precious times of your life, you should let your feelings be known, if the feelings are no reciprocated then that’s when you have to learn to let go, but at least then, beyond doubt the person knows how you feel and you did what you could.

The hardest part is the idea that you may be letting go for good and the that all those big plans you had together may now never take place now.

My world has been rocked and today my emotions took me over… bad times. Feeling so lost right now…

Missing that certain someone.

Love

Safe.

Among my business ventures is the newly incorporated company I formed the week before last.

Today I received the first cheque to be invested straight back in to the company.

£108.07 woo woo! …yeah it’s not much but it’s a start, right? Yep it took me a few days to earn this one but it’s the first of many and by far the smallest, the next one is already on it’s way

Am I selling my eBook of how to succeed in business…? Haha Nah, this one’s just for me

My new website is being built now, as we speak infact!

I have really high hopes for my new business enterprise and am really excited to see how it grows from nothing into something massive (That’s what she said).

I don’t want to really go into much more detail yet, watch this space… maybe

My company has one share holder (me) and is worth £1

In a shizzle J Fizzle

A blog post by Mike Hodkinson

Sweet.

I decided recently that actually going without any food (including snacks) for 24 hours isn’t really so much or a chore as you would think…

Why would that have anything to do with anything? Well it’s come to my attention that it’s actually a very effective weight loss technique.

One day recently I had completely lost my appetite, personal circumstances most likely and the next day on my two mile walk to work my trousers were kind of slipping down my waist, now I wouldn’t mind but my belt doesn’t go any smaller tighter than it was already! I already had a tubby belly which I’ve loathed for a while now and before I moved to Worcester I was a member of Virgin Active Gym in Solihull, despite being a regular (well 2-3 times a week) I didn’t really notice any loss of weight although people did comment I’d lost weight in my face… don’t get me wrong I did a full workout as was developed for me by my PT when I joined, I did the full workout every time, Rowing for 10 minutes, 6km was my best in this time, cross trainer at the end of my workout which absolutely killed me, my heart rate kept flashing up as being too high! And around 6/7 weights such as the lat machine, arm curl etc in between before rewarding myself with a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and a cold bucket of water before leaving (heaven).

So fasting then! Once I’d lost my appetite and as soon as I established I’d lost a considerable amount of weight just from going a day without food, I kind of thought to myself hmm hang on a minute am I going to do myself harm if I do this regularly? Google is your friend! So I looked it up

I found a website which referred to the Eat – Stop – Eat diet, which essentially gives reasons for and against what I was preparing to do to my body, I mean lets face it, if you’re ever ill you lose your appetite and don’t eat for 1-3 days this is probably the only time your body every experiences food deprivation. In reality we live in a country of such wealth that regular meals are just kind of expected, there’s no shortage.

Even on top of the regular meals we have a snacking culture too, confectionery/sweets, crisps, the McDonalds saver menu comprises mainly of snacks, I’m steering completely clear of these… infact I havn’t had a McDonalds for months!

I also just drink water now, before I was a sucker for soft drinks, Pepsi in particular see, if you consider that each 330ml can of Pepsi accounts for 39% of your GDA of sugar and I’d guess I would drink maybe 5 or 6 maybe more each day which is terrible, a total of 42% of my GDA calories aswell… I used to be pretty much ignorant to all this!

You would expect that food deprivation leaves you feeling low on energy but it’s just not the case, I’m excercising more too, in addition to my 2 mile walk to work of a morning and my 2 mile walk home of an afternoon, I’ve also recently been able to start a light jog on my ankle (which is still not 100% recovered) so I do this occasionally now of an evening

Reasons fasting works:

Hormones are usually at the root of most of your metabolic functioning, and fat burning is no different. Growth Hormone is the most important fat burning hormone in your body. Fasting pushes growth hormone production into high gear and this makes your fat burning furnace start to work overtime. Fasting also decrease your insulin levels, which ensures that you burn body fat instead of storing it.

Fat burning hormones need the help of fat burning enzymes to get their job done. Fasting will sky rocket the activity of two of the most important fat burning enzymes in your body. Adipose tissue HSL (Hormone Sensitive Lipase) is the enzyme responsible for allowing your fat cells to release fat so it can be burned as energy in your muscles. Muscle tissue LPL (Lipoprotein Lipase) is the enzyme responsible for allowing your muscle cells to take up fat so it can be burnt as a fuel. Fasting increases both of these enzymes to optimize fat burning – A perfect combination.

Short term fasting (12-72hrs) actually increases your metabolism and adrenaline levels. This causes you to increase calorie burning during the fast period. The more calories you burn the faster you can lose weight. The extra energy you get from the fast might actually help you through a workout or get more work done at work or around the house. When I did my first fast I was shocked at how awake and energetic I was. My fasting days are now my most productive days of the week.

Fasting shifts your metabolism from burning blood sugar to burning mostly body fat. When you eat a meal your body likes to burn carbs first, then the fat from your food. Any extra fat that your body can’t burn in the few hours after you eat get stored as body fat. When you fast your body has no choice but to burn stored body fat. By the end of a 24 hour fast your body is burning way more fat than it would during a regular day of eating.

The most surprising benefit people report back when they start fasting is a new found awareness of what causes them to eat. When you make a conscious decision to fast for a day your less than flattering eating motivations become painfully obvious. This is the first and most effective step to getting rid of bat habits for good. Knowing what your motivations are for poor eating choices is essential before you can change them and build better habits.

Each short fast is an accomplishment that can build self confidence and gratitude. At the end of a 24 hour fast you can feel good about your accomplishment and start feeling good about your relationship with food again. The positive empowerment from each fast builds on the last until you feel completely in control of your food choices.

Short term fasting allows you to lose weight and burn fat without restricting any of the foods you love to eat. With this style of eating you can consume any and all of the foods you like whenever you choose without feeling guilty about it and still lose weight. You will never again have to be sitting in a restaurant picking at a salad while everyone else at the tables indulges in their favorite entrée and dessert.

As with many diets there may be side effects or health risks associated with the above activity, as such I am documenting my progress for my own purposes and for the interest of anyone considering doing the same but I do not endorse, encourage or support anyone following my footsteps, though I am happy to receive your feedback.

I need to close my eyes now as the packet of bourbons are staring at me!!

Deg Deg!

If I have no valuable advice to offer anywhere in this blog, here is something to abide by if it’s the only piece of advice you take any notice of today… don’t text on your phone whilst walking down several flights of stairs.

Reason being is that the last step (or what you think is the last step) may not actually be the last step and that as you turn your foot in the angle of the next flight of stairs, if what you’re actually doing is placing your foot sideways on the top of the right angled edge of the REAL last step before you proceed to apply your whole body weight on to it, don’t be surprised if you hear a ripping of ligaments, need doctors and hospital appointments for X-Rays, an inability to walk and severe pain in your ankle in the weeks that follow.

I hope we’ve all learned something today, I know I have, pay attention when walking down the stairs
